Knowing the different ways on how to compare car insurance is quite easy, and may help make the cost a great deal cheaper for your situation. There are several ways to find the type of cover you are looking for and this will help make it easy for you to be able to do comparisons on the information you obtain.

The telephone directory is a good place to start as there are usually quite a lot of insurance companies listed. Your will have to look for the ones that specialise in vehicle cover, because some of them only do certain types of cover and not others.

If you are looking for Compulsory Third Party cover or a CTP slip then you will have to check through the directory for the companies that do this kind of cover. If it is other types of car cover such as comprehensive, third party property damage or something else then check to make sure the company that you might be looking to phone covers this.

Once you telephone a company, most times you will go direct to an automated voice program that will ask you to press a certain button to be put through to the CTP section or another button that will send you to others types of vehicle cover. This may forward you on again to another automated voice which will ask you for the year, make and model of the vehicle in question. If you would prefer to talk to a consultant the automated voice may tell you to press another button for this service.

Once you get this far you should be able to get a pricing on the insurance you are after. Have a pen ready and write down all the information you may need, so that when you phone the next company you can write down their information and you will then be able to compare it.

Checking on the internet is another place where these companies are also listed. To find these, type in the cover you are after, then press the enter or search button on the computer you are using, which should bring up the website which has the insurance business web page listings. Find where you can get a quote on the web page and follow it through with your vehicle details. Once you have the quote then go to the next company web page and get a quote from them. Once you have done this several times you can then make some comparisons.
